The Action Bronson x New Balance 990v6 Drops March 2023

For New Balance, their well placed collaborations have garnered them massive success in recent years, from signing Kawahi Leonard to bringing Teddy Santis onboard as the Creative Director of their Made In USA line. Though the man once had an adidas collaboration on the horizon, Action Bronson took to Instagram to give us a teaser at an upcoming collaboration between one of Brookyln’s most unique rappers and Boston’s-very-own, New Balance.

While most rappers are feening for a Jordan Brand collaboration, if you do your research, you’ll know Action Bronson is not a fan of MJ’s sneakers, only furthering the reason why he would choose to collaborate with the dad-shoe designers. For his take on the newly introduced 990v6 we see Bronson cover the sneaker in various shades across different color palettes with earth tones and vibrant hues clashing against one another. Brown suede wraps around mudguard and edge of the upper and sole unit while tannish-orange leather overlays take over the toebox and midfoot. Below this sits a vibrant volt green mesh which contrasts with the grey suede eyestays and silver leather on the collar. For lacing, we see a two-tone pink/purple rope lace run up to a baby blue co-branded tongue tag which features Baklava and 990v6 logos. Further branding details appear on the midfoot with a 3M reflective “N” logo, a 990 stamp on the heel, and a co-branded insole that appears similar to the tongue tag. Rounding out the design is the blue 990v6 midsole featuring FuelCell cushioing paired with a black and blue rubber outsole.

The Action Bronson x New Balance 990v6 is slated to release in 2023 through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store on March 24th, 2023 while the pair will release March 17th, 2023 through specializinginlife.com.
