ANTA and Kyrie Irving continue to produce new renditions of Kyrie Irving’s signature basketball sneaker, the ANTA Kai 1, with the latest pair to be released inspired by Kyrie’s home state of New Jersey. After sitting down for an exclusive interview with Jared Subawon, who designed the sneaker, last month, ANTA has unveiled the next colorway of the Kai 1 coming in Kailedoscope.
The ANTA Kai 1 Kailedoscope features a striking blend of black, silver, red, and blue tones that mimic the vibrant and reflective imagery seen through a kaleidoscope. Black is the foundational color, appearing on the toe box, midfoot, and heel areas, while silver overlays bring a sleek contrast to the sneaker. Gradient color effects on the tongue’s logo and inner lining enhance the kaleidoscope theme, creating an eye-catching detail that stands out on the court. The midfoot lockdown strap is designed in white, black, and red, with Kyrie’s name boldly highlighted in red.
This strap adds a visual pop and ensures enhanced support during intense gameplay. Other colorful details include the red-to-blue pattern on the midfoot and the red hues of the tongue lining and heel’s pull tab. Underfoot, the sneaker has a full-length Nitrogen-cushioned foam midsole, a midfoot carbon plate for stability, and an anti-slip rubber outsole designed to grip the court precisely.
The ANTA Kai 1 Kailedoscope will release on August 31, 2024, through ANTA and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing for $125 and GS sizing for $100.
