Corteiz, the London-based streetwear brand founded in 2017 by Clint, has rapidly become a cultural phenomenon in the UK and beyond. Despite a legal skirmish with Nike in 2020, which resulted in a settlement, the two have transitioned from courtroom adversaries to creative collaborators. Following their successful partnership on the Nike Air Max 95, which saw the release of three distinct colorways, Corteiz is set to embark on another venture with Nike. This time, they’re taking on the iconic Nike Air Trainer Huarache, as Brendan Dunne of Complex reported.
These early CAD renderings show the Corteiz x Nike Air Trainer Huarache in three colorways: bone-based, grey-based, and black-based. Each pair features signature Air Trainer Huarache detailing, such as a neoprene bootie and mid-foot strap. What is unique about Corteiz’s take on the shoe is that it looks like he has opted to enlarge some of the exposed areas.
Classic camouflage print is also seen covering the inner bootie. While these are early designs, it is still unknown whether Corteiz branding will be present or if it will adorn the insoles. With this collection set for a Holiday 2024 release, many things can change between now and the final design, as details are still under wraps. However, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache, known for its unique design and snug fit, provides a versatile canvas for Corteiz’s bold aesthetic.
