New Balance has a rich history of creating iconic running sneakers that have significantly influenced the footwear industry. The 99X series, in particular, stands out for its blend of technical innovation and premium materials, epitomized by the Made in USA lineup. With Teddy Santis at the helm as the creative director for Made in USA, we’ve witnessed the revival of several classic models, and the 997 is the next model making a grand return. Before the standard GR colorways, the first release will be an ultra-limited Paris colorway celebrating the upcoming Olympic Games. This exclusive pair will be accompanied by a special edition 990v6.
The New Balance 997 Made in USA Paris showcases a premium construction with nubuck, leather, suede, and velvet materials adorning the upper. The color palette draws direct inspiration from the New Balance Le Marais store in Paris. The sneaker features tan hues on the mudguard and midfoot, complemented by green suede on the N logo and velvet collar. The midfoot is accented with metallic gold tumbled leather, contrasting with the brown hairy suede tongue. Additional details include red on the sockliner and tan nubuck near the vamp. A cream 997 midsole and a black outsole ensure style and comfort while completing the design.
The New Balance 997 Made in USA Paris will release on July 26, 2024, exclusively in Paris at the New Balance Le Marais store. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
