Mesh runners have remained atop the charts for sneakerheads as comfort has become the primary focus of many in the space. Leading the charge for Nike is the Vomero 5, which has gone from being an archival performance running sneaker into a modern-day staple for lifestyle wear. For Holiday 2024, we already know of multiple new colorways, including Pumpkin Spice and Vintage Green, but a familiar Metallic Silver University Red will also hit shelves this upcoming season.
Similar to the Bright Crimson Black colorway from earlier this year, which was a re-release of a colorway from 2019, this new pair changes the color blocking but retains a similar color palette. Black hues take over the mudguard, vamp, eyestays, Swoosh, and heel overlay, while the base comes in a white/black mesh combo. University Red overlays grace the toebox and the TPU midfoot cage, while the heel’s TPU counter comes in a metallic silver finish. Matching this are overlays along the midfoot and the lining of the black Swoosh. Finalizing the upper are the two-tone white and black laces and tongue and the black sockliner. Below sits a white, black, and red Zoom Air and Cushlon-cushioned foam midsole paired with a black and red rubber outsole.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Metallic Silver University Red will release in Holiday 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
