This iconic piece of equipment has been a staple for top producers across the globe, influencing countless tracks over the decades. To honor this game-changing machine, New Balance‘s skateboarding division, New Balance Numeric, has teamed up with Roland to create a special tribute on Tiago Lemos’ 808 model.
The Roland x New Balance Numeric Tiago Lemos 808 features a sophisticated combination of TPU, suede, and mesh materials. Black hues dominate most of the sneaker, giving it a sleek and modern look. A glossy N logo is prominently displayed on the midfoot, lined with a cream hue for added contrast. Above this, a yellow TPU eyelet hosts a Roland TR-808 hangtag, adding a unique touch to the design. Branding for the TR-808 is evident on the tongue tag and insole, while the lateral heel features part of the machine’s full name, Rhythm Composer, spelled out. A wavy, multi-color panel near the heel channels the colors of the TR-808’s keys, incorporating red, orange, and green elements into the design. Completing the look is a black midsole with REVlite cushioning and a cream outsole, ensuring both style and comfort.
The Roland x New Balance Numeric Tiago Lemos 808 will release on 808 Day (August 8, 2024), through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store.
