Nike’s been digging in the archives, reviving silhouettes from the dead, hoping that once-cult classics can become significant hits. We’ve seen this with multiple models, one of the latest being the Air Max Sunder. The sneaker has launched in various options, from the inline Black Silver to upcoming variants like the Gore-Tex Red and Black. An icy blue color scheme has emerged ahead of the Holiday 2024 season.
Retaining the silhouette’s OG build, this Blue Ice colorway has the titular hue covering the mesh base. Above this sits an obsidian-shaded leather mudguard that wraps across the entire upper and features grey TPU pods. Moving up on the sneaker, we see a zipper enclosure that hides the lacing setup and an easter egg. The numbers 6, 4, 5, and 3 are placed on the spine of the tongue, nodding to the spelling of Nike on old-school cellphone keypads. Other branding details include:
- The Air text on the vamp.
- The mini Swoosh near the collar.
- Nike Air branding on the heel’s nylon pull tab.
Underfoot sits a white and black foam midsole with visible Air units in the heel and toe paired with a black and blue ice rubber outsole.
